The Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture is committed to improving the health and safety of the farm clients and reducing the number of farm accidents and injuries. This is accomplished through staff maintaining resources, consulting with stakeholders, and working in cooperation with the Society of Farm Safety Nova Scotia and the Transportation Committee of the Nova Scotia Federation of Agriculture.
Farm Safety Nova Scotia is a nonprofit safety organization dedicated to advancing workplace health and safety within agriculture for Nova Scotia. It is a farmer driven initiative, with a membership consisting of registered farm members of the Nova Scotia Federation of Agriculture. It is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of five active farmers, and includes representation from Nova Scotia Federation of Agriculture, Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture, Nova Scotia Department of Labour and Advanced Education, WCB and Nova Scotia Agricultural College.

Farm Family Support Centre
The Farm Family Support Centre offers a free and confidential consultation and referral service for Nova Scotian farm families seeking assistance in financial counseling, legal services, goal setting, interpersonal relationships, anger and stress management, psychological counseling, non-family dispute, resolutions, marriage counseling and children/teen conflicts. The Farm Family Support Centre can be the key to getting through stressful situations. The ultimate goal of the Farm Family Support Centre is to improve the quality of life for the Nova Scotian farm family.
