Why Do Kids Need Foster Care?
Unfortunately, most children need foster care because of something done to them or because they have been exposed to an unhealthy environment. These are not bad kids but are kids that come from challenging circumstances who need support and love until their situation at home can be improved or another solution can be found.
Foster children can range from infants to young adults. Most are frightened and confused by the separation from their parents. However, with the right foster family, these feelings of hurt and sadness lessen and the child grows to trust you and develops a healthy relationship with your family.
Foster parents take pride in helping teenagers catch up in school or teaching them how to take care of themselves. Foster parents play an valuable role helping children reunite with their parents or help a child get adopted into a permanent family home.
