Regional Development Authority Review

In July 2012, the province and municipalities appointed an independent, expert panel to review the current Regional Development Authority model and make recommendations to support regional economic development in the future. Keeping rural communities strong is critical to the continuing growth of Nova Scotia’s economy. The vision presented in the panel’s report will offer Nova Scotians living in rural communities more opportunities to grow their small businesses, better train their employees, and prepare for the opportunities coming to Nova Scotia as part of a new model to help grow Nova Scotia’s rural economy.
