Bert Seely, Nova Scotia Geomatics Centre on CBC Maritime Noon

X Marks the Spot. If you spend any time out and about in Cape Breton this summer, you might have noticed an unusual phenomenon. Giant white fabric crosses, 12 metres wide pinned to the ground in the most unexpected places, along the highway, beside a train track, even at the top of a cliff by the ocean. If you investigated, you would have found that at the centre of each cross is a bronze plaque affixed to a concrete monument labelled with survey coordinates. Bert Seely, Manager of the Nova Scotia Geomatics Centre explains..
