GeoNOVA Conference Announcement

Mark your calendar, the GeoNOVA Program will be hosting a geomatics conference on October 3 rd and 4 th at the Nova Scotia Real Estate Board building on Scarfe Court in Burnside, Dartmouth. You will hear how Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy impacts GIS, do’s and don’ts of Internet mapping applications, and important federal messages from GeoConnections and the National Land and Water Information Service. You will also hear about the latest projects and new products from local geomatics companies. As an influential GeoNOVA stakeholder, you will have the opportunity to contribute to important provincial geomatics policies such as coordinate referencing and data distribution and pricing.

Senior officials from both the public and private sectors have been asked to participate in the conference by giving keynote presentations. These leaders will share their personal experience and knowledge while discussing the importance of sharing geography in our daily lives.

A more comprehensive notice will be available soon. It will include a detailed agenda with sessions, speakers, bios, and timeslots.

The GeoNOVA Program represents the province’s corporate approach to the creation, maintenance, and distribution of geographic data and maps. GeoNOVA has a responsibility to bring the Nova Scotia geomatics industry together to collaborate, network, and build essential partnerships that will help our sector prosper.
