Coronation Stools

Stools from the coronations of (from left) Queen Elizabeth, King George V and King George VI. Two are part of the Province House collection and one is on loan. For Queen Elizabeth's ceremony at Westminster Abbey, guests could buy their seat with the money going toward the cost of the coronation. The King George VI stool was donated by Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Chase from the Annapolis Valley and the Queen Elizabeth stool was purchased at a local auction. The George V stool is at Government House.
