Hymn
"Abide with Me"

Abide with me; fast falls the eventide;
The darkness deepens; Lord with me abide!
When other helpers fail and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, O abide with me!

I need Thy presence every passing hour;
What but Thy grace can foil the tempter's power?
Who like Thyself, my guide and stay can be?
Through cloud and sunshine, O abide with me!

Stay with us through the night.
Stay with us through the pain.
Stay with us, Blessed Stranger
till the morning breaks again.

Stay with us through the night.
Stay with us through the grief.
Stay with us, Blessed Stranger
till the morning brings relief.

Stay with us through the night.

Psalm 46
Father Theodore Efthimiadis

God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.
Though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy place where the Most High dwells.
God is within her, she will not fall;
God will help her at break of day.
Nations are in uproar, Kingdoms fall;
He lifts his voice, the earth melts.

The Lord Almighty is with us;
The God of Jacob is our fortress.
Come and see the works of the Lord,
the desolations he has brought on the earth.
He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth;
He breaks the bow and shatters the spear,
He burns the shields with fire.

"Be still and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations.
I will be exalted in the earth;"
The Lord Almighty is with us;
The God of Jacob is our fortress.

Homily
Father Duncan MacMaster

Hymn
"The Day Thou Gavest"

The day thou gavest Lord is ended;
The darkness falls at Thy behest.
To Thee our morning hymns ascended;
Thy praise shall sanctify our rest.

As o'er each continent and island;
The dawn leads on another day.
The voice of prayer is never silent;
Nor dies the strain of praise away.

So be it Lord, Thy throne shall never
Like earth's proud empires pass away.
Thy kingdom stands and grows forever;
Till all Thy creatures own Thy sway.

Benediction
Reverend Leonard Fischer

Tribute to Victims' Families and Friends

I know
that my words won't explain
that I will never understand,
but I try.
And I don't know you --
don't know the things to say
to comfort you
to let you know I think of you
I am helpless.
The only hope for me
is to let you know
I care.
