National Child Day Calendar Contest

For students in grades primary to 7

On November 20th, 2009, the international community will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child by the United Nations General Assembly. The Office of the Ombudsman invites students from grades Primary to 7 to join our Calendar Contest to mark this important event.

Twelve drawings will be selected and used to compile a National Child Day calendar. A copy of the calendar will be presented to each of the twelve winners. Mark your calendar - the deadline is November 15! So, get busy - and good luck!

Prizes

  • I-Pod Shuffle for each of 12 winners, and
  • $250.00 for the class with the best participation

What Do You Have to Draw?

A drawing depicting what all children need to live and grow – rights as outlined in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The drawing must be on 81/2 x 11 inch paper. A Title Page must include: your name, address and school, school district, grade, and home room teacher's name. The judges will look at neatness, creativity, and understanding of the topic.

All drawings must be received by the Office of the Ombudsman no later than November 15th, 2009.
