On July 9, 2009, a new government committee was established to provide policy direction to government.

Led by the Deputy Minister of Policy and Priorities, the Office of Policy and Priorities is responsible for all affairs and matters pertaining to identification, prioritization and development of government policy issues, plans and strategies.
